Small business owners boost their financial management skills

As part of its efforts to build the capacity of people in the domains of money management specifically for micro, small and medium sized businesses, the Enterprise Seychelles Agency (Esa) is currently running two online training on financial management.

The trainings which coincide with the Global Money Week campaign – Tuesday March 21 to Sunday March 27 – are also in line with the agency’s parent ministry’s – the Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry – wider objective to build an entrepreneurship framework.

It will also help local entrepreneurs to bounce back from a Covid-19-induced economic disturbance, while thinking about meeting their working capital requirements.

According to Esa’s training coordinator, Evaline Joubert, they are conducting online sessions to ease and increase the participation of entrepreneurs, adapting to their busy schedule.

She explained that the two sessions on budget management – QuickBooks (small business accounting software) – will be divided into theory and practical.

QuickBooks is the most popular small business accounting software businesses use to manage income and expenses and keep track of the financial health of their business.

It can be used for invoicing customers, paying bills, generating reports, and preparing taxes.

Small business owners typically use QuickBooks to manage their invoices, pay their bills, and track their cash flows.

They also use it to generate month- and year-end financial reports as well as prepare for quarterly or annual business taxes.

Both trainings are free of charge.
