Next Step group to organise fundraising in aid of sick boy |26 August 2022
The Next Step group has announced that it will be organising a fundraising for terminally ill 11-year-old Julio Louise.
The leader of the group, Sonny Dogley, said it is more fitting for the Next Step group to give a helping hand and extend its solidarity to Julio and his family because like himself the little boy hails from the English River district.
Dogley said members of Next Step will entertain passers-by and shoppers at Eden Plaza on Monday August 29 and Tuesday August 30.
“The last time the Next Step group raised funds, the proceeds amounting to R10,000 went to a young boy from Praslin suffering from an eye cancer. Members of the group are very happy to be able to contribute their part to help anyone in need,” Dogley remarked.
Meanwhile the group is continuing with its voluntary work campaign and it is currently giving a fresh coat of paint to some gates at the Ste Elizabeth Convent.
Mr Dogley has expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the sponsors who are helping by providing paint and other related items as well as refreshments and food.
“We are really grateful to those who still believe in us and encourage us in all our endeavours,” said Dogley.
He said the group is planning a fun day for children on September 11 at the Baie Ste Anne Praslin playground while a similar activity is also being planned to take place on La Digue towards the end of that same month.
