All set for first Lospitalite – Lafyerte Sesel’ awards |01 October 2022

The ‘Lospitalite – Lafyerte Sesel’ shifts into fifth gear with the execution of its third pillar, the long-awaited award ceremony, today at the Kempinski Hotel at Baie Lazare.  The award event’s main objective is to give recognition to excellent service in the industry.

Launched by the tourism department together with its partners and collaborators, the ‘Lospitalite – Lafyerte Sesel’ programme aims to nurture a culture of service excellence across the tourism industry and related sectors.

A public call was then made for businesses to join the programme in order to be eligible to compete for the awards. As part of the programme, businesses also participated in training sessions and other activities, including adopting a tourism club.

Speaking about the project, Diana Quatre, director for industry human resource development, said, "We were very pleased to see our partners so interested in joining the programme. We have successfully worked together, and we look forward to seeing the culmination of our efforts through this award ceremony."

For this first ‘Lospitalite – Lafyerte Sesel’ awards, 57 businesses and individuals who consistently deliver exceptional service will be recognised during this evening’s gala event.

Ms Quatre further explained that all businesses and individual recipients nominated by their employers were assessed several times through a mix of planned visits and mystery assessments conducted by independent assessors.

Each recipient of the Lospitalite awards will be given a hand sculpted trophy designed by local sculptor Joseph Norah and a certificate.

In addition, individuals first in their respective categories will receive other rewards.
