President Ramkalawan declares September 27 a public holiday
President Wavel Ramkalawan has officially declared Saturday, September 27, 2025, a public holiday.
This one-off holiday coincides with the country’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.
The order, made by the President on August 27, was officially gazetted on Monday. This is in accordance with the Public Holidays Act.
Declaring election day a public holiday is not new in Seychelles, with similar measures taken previously, for elections held in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2020.
