The planned establishment of a Seychelles embassy in Moscow will mark another milestone in the growing partnership between Seychelles and the Russian Federation.
This was highlighted by Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Diaspora Barry Faure during a reception at the Savoy Seychelles Resort & Spa, hosted by the embassy of Russia in Seychelles to celebrate Russia’s National Day (June 12, 2026) and the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
Present were President Patrick Herminie, First Lady Veronique Herminie, Vice-President Sebastien Pillay, Speaker of the National Assembly Azarel Ernesta, ministers, President of the Court of Appeal Anthony Fernando, members of the National Assembly, the diplomatic corps, and other distinguished guests.
Russian Ambassador Artyom Kozhin emphasised Russia’s commitment to strengthening ties with African partners, noting that relations with Seychelles have been particularly dynamic since President Herminie’s historic meeting with President Vladimir Putin in April.
