PUC introduces online Customer Portal |13 January 2020

2020 is expected to be to a good year for the Public Utilities Corporation (PUC) as it strives to boost the quality of services it offers its consumers, thus improving their satisfaction.

One such improvement is the newly launched Online Customer Portal aimed at giving PUC clients access to their accounts on a 24/7, all year round and at their own convenience.

Seychelles NATION last week sat down with the deputy chief commercial officer of the PUC, Michel Zialor, to get more details on the new product.

Mr Zialor explained that to access the Online Customer Portal service customers will have to provide their email, customer number and contact details to be able to sign in.

By using the service, customers will be able to get a detailed summary of their utility account transactions for a particular time period which can also be printed, view their list of invoices as far as 2016 including a detailed description of charges for a particular month, view a graphical representation of their utility usage for easier interpretation and comparison of data.

“This new system will provide our clients all their utility usage information through their accounts in real time in one place at the touch of a button,” said Mr Zialor.

Since its launch in November 2019, over two thousand accounts have already been registered on the portal.

“I want to encourage everyone to use this option as all the information they need, including their monthly bills, will be available on the portal,” added Mr Zialor.

He also noted that the PUC is working on adding online payment to the portal and that is expected to be ready later this year.

Another service that the PUC will be providing is the SMS service whereby customers are given their monthly bills through a text message sent by the PUC. The service is still in its infancy stage and the company is reviewing customer numbers and everyone who has an updated contact detail with the PUC will be eligible for the service.
