Televised debate revisits Seychelles’ Constitution
What began as Claude Bonté’s personal curiosity about Seychelles’ Constitution evolved into a televised chat show that reunited members of the Constitutional Commission who drafted the country’s Third Republic Constitution in 1992–1993. Aired on SBC as part of the National Day celebrations, the programme explored the origins of the Constitution, its strengths and challenges, and the issues that continue to shape democratic debate today.
Speaking to Seychelles NATION, Mr Bonté shared the inspiration behind the initiative and reflected on the importance of creating spaces where Seychellois can engage in open dialogue.
