President Herminie extends condolences to Tanzania’s President Samia Hassan

Following the passing of Honourable Hafidh Ameir Hassan on September 7, 2026, President Patrick Herminie, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Her Excellency President Samia Suluhu Hassan, her family, and the people of Tanzania.

In his message, President Herminie, stated:

“It is with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of your beloved spouse, the late Honourable Hafidh Ameir Hassan, on September 7, 2026.

“As the first gentleman of the United Republic of Tanzania, he will be remembered with deep respect for his distinguished contribution as an agricultural academic, and for the steadfast support he offered throughout your tenure in the public service.

“The passing of the late Honourable Hafidh Ameir Hassan marks the loss of a devoted husband, father, and patriot whose legacy will endure in the hearts of the Tanzanian people.

“In this moment of national grief, the Republic of Seychelles stands in solidarity with your Excellency, the government and the people of Tanzania. We pray that Almighty God grants you and your family strength and comfort during this difficult time.”
