The Seychelles Coast Guard (SCG) has added a new Fast Response Boat (FRB) to its fleet, strengthening the nation’s maritime security and rapid response capacity.

The Yamaha high-speed vessel, named Constant, was formally handed over at the SCG base on Ile Perseverance. Japanese Ambassador Sakuta Makoto presented the boat to Major General Michael Rosette, Chief of the Seychelles Defence Forces, following the signing of the legal transaction with Olga Kogay, UNODC Regional Programme Officer for Global Maritime Crime.

President Patrick Herminie, Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, attended the ceremony alongside senior military officials, UN representatives, and Yamaha Motor executives from Japan and Seychelles.
