‘From policy to practice: Powering maritime excellence’

“Today, as we mark the 2026 World Maritime Day. We do so recognising the marine sector as the cornerstone of our sea connectivity, trade, tourism, the very livelihoods and economic resilience of our islands.

“In keeping with the International Maritime Organisation’s theme, ‘From Policy to Practice: Powering Maritime Excellence’, I reaffirm my ministry’s collective commitment to strengthen governance to ensure Seychelles continues to align its maritime sector with international standards, and ensure the effective implementation of policies and regulations pertaining to safety, resilience and sustainability.

“The ocean is central to our nation’s prosperity and responsibility. My ministry remains dedicated in developing the policy and legal framework for safeguarding our maritime domain and in supporting operational excellence across all facets of the maritime sector.
