Seychelles explores blue economy partnerships with China

Seychelles explored new opportunities for blue economy cooperation with China at the 2026 Global Ocean Development Forum, where the country's achievements in ocean conservation and development were recognised. The visit also opened discussions on future research collaboration and participation in a major East African ocean exploration initiative.

Representing the country at the September 16-18 event in Qingdao, Shandong Province, were the secretary of state for Fisheries & Blue Economy, Alain de Commarmond, accompanied by the principal secretary for Blue Economy, Veronique Nibourette.
