‘Tis the season of giving and like every year H. Savy Insurance (HSI) has donated gifts and housing supplies to the Foyer de la Providence (St Elizabeth’s Convent).
Having adopted the convent for about 14 years now, HSI occasionally donates to the institution and the donation yesterday falls within that context.
Present at the ceremony was the manager corporate affairs & compliance, Marie-Paule Samson, sisters at the orphanage and the children themselves.
During the short ceremony, the children were presented with their Christmas gifts after Ms Samson had presented a gift basket to Sister Marie Rosefine.
“HSI adopted the convent a few years back and ever since, we provide it with the things it needs. We donate because it is from our heart. It’s always good to give to people who are a little less fortunate than others in the society,” said Ms Samson.
She added that the donations will continue and it is always their pleasure to put a smile on the faces of the children at the convent.
She added that next year they plan to do something special.
On her part Sister Marie Rosefine thanked the HIS team for their initiative and remarked that they are always there to lend a helping hand whenever the convent needs help.
“It is such a good initiative what HSI does for us and it shows that no one forgets the children at the convent,” said the sister.
Currently St Elizabeth is home to 20 children aged between 1-13 years.
