CBS publishes its board and committee charters |25 April 2026
The Central Bank of Seychelles has published its board and committee charters, which set out the roles, responsibilities and decision-making processes of the board of directors and its committees, supporting the effective governance, strategic direction and oversight of the bank discharging its mandates.
In accordance with the Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS) Act, the board oversees the functioning of CBS and is responsible for the policy and affairs of the bank. The board committees support this work by providing focused oversight and expert guidance within their specific areas of responsibility, contributing to strengthened accountability and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the board’s deliberations and decisions.
The publication of the board and committee charters aims to enhance awareness of the bank’s governance framework among its stakeholders, including the public, and reflects CBS’ continued efforts to reinforce transparency, accountability, integrity and good governance in delivering on its objectives of promoting price and financial stability.
This move also aligns with international best practices, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF)’s Central Bank Transparency Code, which recognises transparency as a key element of accountability and public trust.
