Youth empowered through hands-on vermiponics training |25 April 2026

A recent vermiponics training of trainers workshop proved to be a dynamic and inspiring experience, equipping those who attended with practical skills in sustainable agriculture while fostering a strong sense of environmental responsibility.
Vermiponics is a sustainable farming method that combines raising worms with growing plants in water instead of soil. In simple terms, it is a system where worms break down organic matter into nutrient-rich waste, which is then converted into a liquid fertiliser to feed plants grown in water.
For the workshop attendees, the training left a lasting impression.
Meryl Thomas described it as a really thrilling experience and one which has equipped her with the skills and knowledge to empower other youths.
