Mahé Shipping company has donated R75,000 to Pet Haven Seychelles, a non-governmental, non-profit organisation dedicated to rescuing and caring for stray and abandoned animals across the country.

The donation, presented yesterday, reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare and community support.

The contribution is part of Mahé Shipping’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, which places strong emphasis on animal welfare alongside other social priorities.

Speaking at the presentation, Julya Barbier, Senior Shipping Data Entry Officer at Mahé Shipping, underscored the deeper significance of the shelter’s work. “We recognise that the work you do goes far beyond care. It is about compassion, responsibility, and giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves. The impact of Pet Haven is felt not only in the lives of the animals you protect, but also in the awareness and humanity you bring to our community,” she said.
