Former deputy police chief testifies at CCCL inquiry

The Commission of Inquiry into the Civil Construction Company Limited (CCCL) explosion yesterday heard testimony from Francis Songoire, former deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), who outlined his role in the police response and subsequent investigation following the December 7, 2023 disaster.

Mr Songoire, who now works with the Ministry of Homeland Security & Civil Affairs, told the inquiry that at the time of the explosion he oversaw seven police units, including Internal Affairs, Public Relations, the Police Academy and Compliance.
