Full Vibes re-emerge with new 16-track album-Full Vibes re-emerge with new 16-track album |22 April 2006
The Canada-based group, made up of Seychellois, Canadians, Africans and musicians from the Caribbean, are currently in Studio Creason in Montreal, Canada where they are busy recording a new 16-track album.
Members of the public will as from next month get the gist of the new album through the single Be real, which will be aired on Paradise FM.
On a sad note, lead singer Allen Camille a.k.a Jr Abel has announced that Howard Johnson a.k.a Shadrock or (Buju) is no longer a member of the band. Buju has decided to go solo.
But the good news is that Buju is being replaced by young Seychellois Fara Parcou a.k.a Queen Deeva.
DJ/Rapper Queen Deeva is the niece of Douglas Parcou, another Seychellois musician residing in Montreal, Canada.
21-year-old Fara, who left Seychelles at the age of 3 to settle in Canada, said that growing up in a music family and surrounded by friends and members of the Equator band inspired her to take up music.
“I’ve been influenced by my uncle Douglas and other members of the Equator band. Every now and then they would get together at my father’s place to jam and Jr Abel would always let me join in,” Queen Deeva said.
By the age of 13 when she was at high school, Queen Deeva said that music became her hobby, and everything related to music, dancing, singing, writing and rapping became a part of her.
As she grew older, the passion for music developed and she was delighted when Jr Abel asked her to perform alongside him on the track Seychelles Mon Reve.
Queen Deeva, who has received her parents’ support, said that their words of encouragement, which most of the time came as ‘the star will shine, its only a matter of time’, helped her to reach this far.
Queen Deeva is expected to accompany Full Vibes on its next musical performance here to promote the new album.
Meanwhile Full Vibes fans get ready for the band’s unique style of roots and dance hall reggae that according to the group will “mash up” the island.
