During the festival three films will be screened at the Dockland Cinema. The venue has been offered by the management of Deepam Cinema.

The festival will be officially launched on February 23 with the film Lantana.

The second film, entitled Somersault, will be screened on February 24, followed by Danny Deckchair on February 25.

The screening of all three films, which range in duration from 100 minutes to 120 minutes, starts at 7.30 p.m. Entrance is free.

Produced by Jan Chapman and directed by Ray Lawrence, Lantana is a psychological thriller about love. It’s about the mistakes we make, the consequences we suffer, and the attempts we make to fix things up.

Somersault, a visually haunting film set at the foot of the Australian ski fields, is the story of a young girl’s sensory journey, through which she learns the true meaning of love, family and friendship. Produced by Jan Chapman and Anthony Anderson, Somersault is directed by Cate Shortland.

Danny Deckchair tells the story of an ordinary bloke who rockets out of his loveless relationship into a new world in which he gets the chance to stand out from the crowd and fall in love. Produced by Andrew Mason, Danny Deckchair is directed by Jeff Balsmeyer.

All three films have scooped several awards both at home and abroad.
