Electronic 2000 to offer Blu-Ray DVD service |01 December 2008

Blu-Ray is the next generation of the visual disc format developed to handle high-definition (HD) audio-visual content, with five times more capacity than today’s DVDs and 50 dual layers enabling the disc to deliver entertainment in full HD quality.

The store, an agent of Samsung, is to sell Blu-Ray players produced by its international partner. The DVDs are to be made available by Deepam Video Rental, which has agreed to bring them into the country, according to Electronic 2000’s owner.

The news comes after Electronic 2000’s recent move to a new setting in the Orion Mall shopping complex, which is due to be officially opened soon. The store, which also sells Pioneer and Sharp brand appliances, is at the heart of the complex on the ground floor. Other floors of the mall can be reached by lifts and escalators, a first for Seychelles.

Appliances on sale at Electronic 2000 include LCD and normal televisions from 14 inches upwards, DVD players with USB input, a range of Pioneer car accessories and car CD players with USB input.
