Judo-Judokas warm up for Mauritius Open with National Champs appearances |07 December 2010
Dario Larue dominated the male cadet -50kg category, finishing ahead of Carlos Labiche (runner-up), Dominique César and Roge Gabriel (joint third).
In the mixed 55kg division, male competitor Jean-Michel Vidot relegated two female judokas – Jessie Malbrook and Vanessa Cherie – into second and third places.
Graham Dogley took first place in the male +85kg category for under 19-year-olds, followed in second place by Alexander Marie, while Daniel Athanase finished third.
Marie-Annette Vidot and Brigitte Rose finished joint first in the -70kg women’s senior category, and Amanda Payet came third.
Two-time Olympian Francis Labrosse moved from the light -60kg to the heavier -73kg division and still won ahead of Naddy Jeanne and Benfika Young, who settled for second and third places.
Praslinois Dominic Dugasse had no trouble winning the +90kg class ahead of Calixte César and Lionel Savy, who are also both from Praslin.
Meanwhile, 11 judokas from the Roche Caïman, Port Glaud and Baie Ste Anne Praslin clubs left yesterday to take part in the Mauritius Open Championship.
The judokas who have been selected for the mission are Francis Labrosse, Carlos Labiche, Samuel Marie, Marielle Agathe,
Mario Brigillia, Jean-Michel Vidot, (Port Glaud), Dominique Dugasse (Baie Ste Anne), Marie-Annette Vidot, Alex Marie, Paddy King and Amanda Payet (Roche Caïman).
They are accompanied by coach Doro Santa, while Labrosse is also acting as head of delegation.
