Football-Did Seychelles get the right Andy Morrison? |11 December 2010

This means that Andrew Amers Morrison is not the former professional footballer the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) originally thought it had landed to coach the country’s national team.

Andrew Amers Morrison has taught underprivileged children to play football at his own Samba Street Soccer school in London since 2005.

Street soccer is a South American form of football known over there as futsal or futebol de salao.

England international Joe Cole and former Netherlands midfielder Edgar Davids went to see the kids training and said they were “gob-smacked” that these kids were doing the same tricks as Ronaldinho.

Two of Andrew Amers Morrison’s under-10s have been signed by Chelsea's youth development centre, and one of his girls won a four-year scholarship to Mississippi State University.

Andrew Amers Morrison, who used to play professionally but never became a household name, won the regional finals in a Pride of Britain award in recognition of his outstanding work with underprivileged children in his local area of London in October last year.
