STB delegates to take part in Vanilla Islands meeting in Mauritius |04 June 2011

The Mauritius meeting will see the participation of Seychelles, Reunion, Madagascar and the Comoros, alongside host country Mauritius.

Cindy Vidot of Air Seychelles will also make up the Seychelles delegation.
“It is important that we relook at air access between the islands of the Indian Ocean – these Vanilla Islands – if the marketing of the brand of Vanilla Islands is to be successful. We are not linked enough as we are today and this limits the potential of twin-centre island holidays among ourselves,” said Mr St Ange.

It is confirmed that Mauritius will be having Minister Nando Bodha as head of their delegation and Reunion will be represented by Didier Robert, Président de la Région Réunion. The Madagascar delegation, on its part, is being headed by Joël Randriamandranto, the chairman of Madagascar Tourism.

Representatives of all airlines flying to all the Indian Ocean islands have been invited and many have now confirmed their involvement and will hear introductory remarks from heads of delegations from each island.

The Seychelles delegation will be holding meetings with the Reunion government when it transits in Reunion. These will include a meeting with Mr Robert, in which he will be presented with a gift from President James Michel.
