Cricket-Two-day umpiring course to sharpen knowledge |15 September 2011
Subhash Modi from Kenya will conduct the course which will start at 3pm tomorrow and at 10am on Saturday.
Mr Modi came here with the Yohana Youth team from Kenya 33 years ago in 1978.
He chaired the Kenyan umpires and coaches association until recently when he retired. He umpired matches alongside international umpires like Aleem Dar, Russel Tuffin, Simon Taufel, Billy Doctrove, Eramus Marias, Ashoka de Silve, Hari Haran and Arhsad Rauf.
The SCA is organising the course to get more Seychellois and foreigners living here to learn the rules and regulations of this noble game.
It will also help cricketers and cricket lovers to gain more knowledge of the procedures, rules and restrictions of the game.
In May this year, the SCA organised a level one coaching course which was attended by 20 sports persons.
The association would also like to extend its thank to the International Cricket Council of ICC Africa, the African Cricket Association (ACA) and ACA chief executive Cassim Suliman.
Anyone interested to follow the course can register their names with SCA secretary Ayub Suleman on 2515909.
