Ile Perseverance housing units for sale or rental |06 December 2011
This was said by the principal secretary for Land Use and Housing, Christian Lionnet, who noted that the instalments vary between R2,500 and R2,700, depending on what the families can afford.
Payment is spread over a 23-year period.
Families who cannot afford such payments will pay rental at a flat rate of R1,000 monthly. But they will never take ownership of the units.
Mr Lionnet also said that since many applicants have been on the waiting list for some years, this has been taken into consideration when working out the repayment rates.
“No group is being penalised because they moved in second, third or last,” he said.
He said the same rates which were applied to the first contingent of residents in March, will still apply when the last group move in a few years from now.
