Cycling: Germain finishes in 39th position |07 December 2013
Chris Germain has finished in 39th position in the 155 km Road Race of the African Continental Championship in Egypt.
Germain was the only Seychellois cyclist who completed the race, where he managed a time of three hours, 46 minutes and 42 seconds (3:46.42), about five seconds behind race winner Tesfom Okubamariam.
Eritrean Okubamariam finished in a time of 3:41.06 and was followed by two Namibians, Dan Crave and Merhawi Kudus, with the same time.
The Eritrean national cycling team has now won the African Championship tournament for the fourth year in a row. Team Eritrea bagged a total of 4 Gold, 2 Silver and one Bronze medal.
