Twelve complete Advanced Sport Management Course |07 December 2013

Twelve students within the sports community have completed their diploma in Advanced Sports Management and received their certificates in a small ceremony at the Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (Socga) boardroom on Thursday.

The course lasted for one year and was directed by Bernard Denis, who said “these graduates have made Seychelles proud as they now have the tools to aid in sports development”.

He added that despite many challenges faced during the course where 35% of the starting group opted to drop out, it was still a successful one.

Socga President Antonio Gopal on his part addressed the graduates, saying “Your development will help in developing sports in general, as you will be using what you have gained to help in the various disciplines you represent”. Mr Gopal also urged the sports federations to send delegates to take part in the programme as it will be a boost to them.

The course was facilitated through lecturers Japha Ally, Guy Morel, Robert Auguste and Daniel Seraphin.  This is the second time this course has been done, and the graduates featured 10 women and two men. They are Paul Nioze, Charlie Ng Ping Cheun, Priscilla Kinloch, Stephanie Duval, Delta Ward-Horner, Tracey Hetimier, Doreen Auguste, Hillary Nourrice, Paddy King, Antoinette Esparon, Anna Payet and Yvonne Legaie.

Sports Nation would like to take this opportunity to congratulate these graduates on their achievements and look forward to working with them in the future.
