Vehicles collide on runway |03 April 2014
A vehicle belonging to the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) collided with a military vehicle on the runway of the Seychelles International Airport yesterday afternoon, the SCAA has said in a communiqué.
Following the accident, the site was quickly cleared to enable air traffic movement. An Emirates Airlines flight landed with a slight delay followed by the take-off of Etihad Airways.
Both vehicles suffered damage and the drivers were taken to the Seychelles Hospital for treatment of injuries.
The SCAA and the military have set up an investigation panel to carry out a joint investigation into the cause of the accident and make recommendations to prevent recurrence of similar incidents/accidents in the future.
