Constance Ephelia brings support to Seychelles team

Constance Ephelia Seychelles has brought its support to the Seychelles team who will be competing in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The hotel’s resident manager Mathias Colombat presented a cheque for R25,000 to Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (Socga) president Antonio Gopal recently in the presence of management team and staff of the hotel and Marry Banane of the Socga.
“We are so happy and honoured to bring our support through this sponsorship to the Seychellois athletes who will be participating in the Olympic Games this year,” said Mr Colombat.
He added that Constance Ephelia Seychelles employs two high level Seychellois sportsmen – karateka Martin Cedras and bodybuilder Ziad Al Adou Mekdachi who has won a number of titles including the Mr Seychelles crown.
Mr Gopal expressed his heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the Constance Ephelia Seychelles for the sponsorship and said the money will be of great help for the logistic of the delegation. The Seychelles delegation will comprise 60 people.
Socga has high hopes in the weightlifting and boxing for the Games. Reigning Sportswoman of the Year Clementina Agricole is Seychelles’ highest medal hope.
In past Games, Seychelles has performed quite well and its athletes have won a number of medals.
Socga has taken this opportunity to invite and welcome the private sector to bring their financial support to the local Olympic body.
“This financial investment in the future of Seychellois athletes is very important. Today for an athlete to perform high level sports it is very costly compared to before. By helping these athletes, it is the whole of Seychelles that can shine on the international stage,” believes Mr Gopal.
