Golf - Theo Hansen hits 61 to win Solar Hart tournament |10 July 2014

The eagerly anticipated Solar Hart golf tournament was held last Saturday at the Seychelles Golf Club, Anse Aux Pins and Theo Hansen cruised to victory.

Played under an individual medal format, some 24 golfers competed for attractive prizes that the company had put up for grabs. The competition was fierce and when in form single handicapper Richard D’Offay carded a magnificent net score of 65 (gross 68), it was clear that something special would be required from another player in the field to top this score.

Playing in the final group, Theo Hansen was playing the round of his life. Ultimately, his net 61 – a 7 under par score – was unbeatable and Theo, who plays off a 22 handicap, cruised his way to victory! Nevertheless, D’Offay played brilliant golf to secure second spot while another fantastic score was carded by Damien Hoareau (net 65) and took third place.  

Other subsidiary prizes included: best front nine (Jocelyn Ah-Yu) and best back nine (Jemmy Esther).
The managing director of Solar Hart, Richard Ernestine, was on hand to present the prizes to the winners and he was helped by stand-in captain David Deltel.
