Player Zerah Fontaine receives financial help from SBF |31 July 2014

Zerah Alphonse will be able to fund her treatment after receiving R5,145 from the Seychelles Basketball Federation through charity matches organised last weekend.

The money was raised through the sale of tickets for the three matches held last Saturday at Victoria Gymnasium.

A prominent player, Zerah played for the Seychelles national team and HotShots before falling ill. She has to undergo an operation and the money raised will help fund her treatment.

Fontaine was presented with the cheque during a small ceremony yesterday afternoon at Victoria Gymnasium in the presence of SBF secretary general Jean-Guy Alphonse, treasurer Raymond Simeon and other executive committee members.

In the women’s match last Saturday, Mont Fleuri defeated Fontaine’s team HotShots 66 to 53.

MBU Rockers lost their game to Drifters on an 88-74 score and Baya came out victorious against Mont Fleuri Dawgs with a score of 77-67.
