Seychelles show improvement despite another defeat
Seychelles were at the end of another defeat, but they took it with a much-improved performance despite what the 7-1 final score suggests.
The Seychelles beach soccer national team played their second friendly match against Russia’s Lokomotiv Moscow yesterday morning at the Roche Caïman sand pitch where they showed a much more refined performance than they did in the first match last week.
When the first tier of play ended on a 3-0 score it looked like the local boys were in for another trashing, but their response in the second 12-minute period gave much hope to the side ahead of the forthcoming international tournaments.
Under the guidance of Brazilian coach Bruno, the players played much more high passes than they did in the previous game and thus created more chances to test Lokomotiv Moscow’s goalkeeper Maxim Chuzhkov. Seychelles’ solitary goal in the match came from Hansel Coeur de Lion via a spot kick.
In the end the score was 7-1 in favour of the Russians, but the Seychellois can be justly encouraged from their performance as their level of play continues to improve.
Coach Bruno was happy with the performance of the players despite the result, saying that for the short time the team have been training they are improving and will continue to improve in the future.
