Private sector lends support to Team Seychelles

Two private companies operating in Seychelles – Ramani and Company, and Hunt Deltel – have shown their support towards Team Seychelles’ involvement in the forthcoming Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) through sponsorships.
The Minister for Social Affairs, Community Development and Sports Vincent Meriton, the chief executive of the National Sports Council (NSC) Giovanna Rousseau, Seychelles Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association (Socga) president Antonio Gopal and other NSC board members were present at Stad Linite for the presentation ceremony yesterday morning.
It was Corinne Clarisse, the business development manager at Hunt Deltel, who presented a cheque for R90,000 to Minister Meriton.
Miss Clarisse said: “On behalf of Hunt Deltel, we are very happy to contribute towards the success of Seychelles in sports and we wish the athletes all the best during the competition.”
The Hunt Deltel sponsorship will be used by the Seychelles sailing team in preparation for the games.
Ramani and Company’s sponsorship of R60,000 which will go towards the whole team.
“It is always a pleasure to come forward and to give our contribution to sports in Seychelles and we hope that the athletes will come back to Seychelles with medals,” said Raja Ramani.
Upon receiving the cheque, Minister Meriton said Team Seychelles have already received a good number of sponsorships and that they appreciate every effort being made to help the team.
He added: “We appreciate the effort of the private sector in helping Seychelles’ sports and these donations will go towards the final preparations of the athletes as it is very important for them to be in top form if they are to perform to their best.”
