Ninth Indian Ocean Island Games – Reunion - Mondon wins gold on last day |10 August 2015

Her smile and long run around the pool with the Seychelles flag held aloft said it all as Stephanie Mondon won Seychelles the gold medal in the 50m freestyle handisports in a time on 42.90 seconds event at the Piscine du Chaudron on Saturday evening.
Mondon had lined up against only one competitor in the event as she finished first to claim the only gold medal for Seychelles in swimming on the final day of competition at the ninth Indian Ocean Island Games.
“I am very happy to have won and proud to have given another gold medal to Seychelles,” she said.
Seychelles also won one silver and four bronze medals on the final day.
Alexus Laird won the silver medal in the 50m freestyle event with a time of 26.68 seconds. Reunionnais Alizée Morel was the gold medallist in 26.60 seconds.
