Seychelles at luxury travel show |17 November 2015
Seychelles was represented at the recent Luxury Travel Fair, the only dedicated consumer focused luxury travel event in the UK.
The event, held in association with Condé Nast Traveller, took place from November 5-8, 2015 at the Olympia exhibition hall in London.
In the run up to the fair, Conde Nast Traveller runs high profile promotions to generate maximum awareness of the fair among its 335,000 readers as well as across a selection of prestigious magazines including Tatler, Vogue, GQ, House and Garden and Brides.
Showcasing the most luxurious and high-end travel experiences from all corners of the globe, the fair is perfect for discerning and aspiring travellers looking to discover secret and untouched destinations.
With a hand-picked selection of travel brands including luxury resorts, undiscovered boutique hotels, private game reserves and safaris, first-class travel specialists and bespoke luxury tour operators were present to showcase their latest, most lavish and exclusive offerings alongside new ideas for future holidays.
Visitors had the opportunity to interact with travel experts and hoteliers from various brands including Trailfinders, Flight Centre, Audley Travel and Jasmine holidays who were present to help guests fulfil their travel aspirations.
The experts were able to provide their invaluable advice and recommendations to help tailor-make the ultimate luxury holiday.
Throughout the weekend, the popular 'Meet the Experts Theatre' featured exclusive interviews with famous personalities recounting their travel tales, providing discerning travellers with plenty of travel inspiration and a feast of global entertainment. This week prominent personalities such as Bill Bryson (travel writer), Michael Portillo (Great Railway Journeys) and Doug Allan (Experience ‘Life behind the lens’) to name a few were present, attracting the crowds visiting the theatre.
The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) shared its stand with Just Destinations / Tropical Sky – one of destinations specialist tour operators in the UK, with their team providing the visiting consumer with a variety of packages to the Seychelles and expert advice on their prospective travel plans.
The Seychelles stand was manned by Tinaz Wadia, manager, Eloise Vidot, marketing executive of the STB's London office and Maria Morel from the STB's head office in Seychelles.
Ms Wadia said: “The fair is an excellent platform to showcase the Seychelles as a destination. We have attended the show over the years and it continues to generate interest among the consumer who are seeking alternative travel destinations for their holidays. The travel brands present at the show create a good partnership with the Seychelles together highlighting the amazing attributes of the destination.”
The UK market has seen a promising growth to the destination this year reporting a 33% increase for 2015 compared to last year. It currently sits at 5th position for passenger arrivals to the Seychelles.
