Miss Seychelles’ talent opens Pintang tourist destination in China |17 December 2015
Miss Seychelles Linne Freminot’s talent performance was selected for the official opening of the Pintang island as a tourist destination which coincided with the hosting of the 65th Miss World 2015 beauty pageant in Sanya, China.
Linne danced to the famous sega beat Larenn Sega sung by veteran Seychellois female singer Joenise Juliette and stomped to a perfect choreography learnt from vigorous training from Joel Rose, a reputed local dance teacher from the School of Performing Arts in Seychelles.
Her colourful and bright flowered traditional costume made of the Kazak, blouse and mouchoir (headscarf) captured the audience at the opening event in Pingtang.
On Tuesday night, Line was selected among the top 25 contestants out of 120 to perform her Larenn Sega beat and dance at this year’s Miss World Talent Show.
Miss Guyana, Lisa Punch won the Miss Talent competition with her original song titled One Last Time which was written in tribute to her late cousin. After winning, Lisa said this victory means everything to her and proves that her cousin was right and thanked him for making her dream come true. With this win Miss Guyana is guaranteed a place in the final round of Miss World. Miss Malaysia, Brynn Lovett came second while Miss Jamaica, Dr Sanneta Myrie, took third position of the Miss World Talent show.
According to Miss World website, every year contestants who want to enter Miss World Talent must take auditions in front of a panel of judges from the world show of business and entertainment. Judges look for the “wow” factor and the real talented individual whose performance sends shivers down their spine. They must also have great stage presence and confidence dominating the scene around them.
Yesterday the final eliminations for the Beauty with a Purpose projects were held and Linne’s project Restoration of Children with Parents Imprisoned was among the top 46 projects.
Meanwhile, Tourism and Culture Minister Alain Ste Ange has sent a congratulatory message to Linne. The message says: “Linne makes us proud. Coming all the way from our mid-ocean islands in the Indian Ocean your drive as a beauty with a purpose is making its mark as far away as China as it did when you so professionally did in your Seychelles. We wish you all the success in the pageant.”
Final preparations are being made to the grand finale of the Miss World beauty pageant which will be held on Saturday December 19 at the Beauty Crown Theatre in Sanya, China. Beauty queens from more than 120 countries and regions will vie for the crown.
Speaking to Seychelles Nation, Linne, who was the runner-up in the Miss Sports contest, said: “There are only three days left for the final and I’m so excited. It’s been a very nice journey and I’ve learned so much from this pageant.”
Linne and the Seychelles Tourism Board delegation led by deputy chief executive Nathalie Didon are expected back on Monday morning.
