World’s tallest man to visit Seychelles |29 December 2015
It is expected that the world’s tallest man, Sultan Kösen, will be in Seychelles early next year.
Mr Kösen, who holds the Guinness World Record for tallest living male at 2.53 metres, will be part of a delegation from the Magic Circus of Samoa who will also be performing for the second time in Seychelles.
The Magic Circus of Samoa has confirmed that they will be returning to Seychelles in February 2016.
Bruno Loyale, the chief executive and president of Loyale Investments, the promoters of The Magic Circus of Samoa, has said that “the shipping company has agreed to change the destination of our containers to Singapore where CMA will pick them up as a transshipment and bring them on to Seychelles. I am awaiting an actual date but it would be quite safe to say that we can open the circus in Port Victoria on February 18 for sure”.
Mr Loyale went on to state that he was very excited to open his newest show in the Seychelles on this tour and then continue on to Mauritius and Reunion Island.
“I am sure that the people of the Seychelles will thoroughly enjoy this year's amazing collection of great acts from around the world,” Mr Loyale said.
Mr Loyale and his son Urima Matavao were in Seychelles only recently to discuss with the Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange the possibility of bringing back to Seychelles the circus that was so appreciated by the people of Seychelles when it first came in October 2013..
“We are looking at bringing back a bigger circus and needed to discuss this proposal with Minister St Ange,” said Mr Loyale after this meeting at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture ESPACE offices.
“Seychelles wants to be seen as a tourism destination where culture is positioned as the base of its marketing. When we speak of culture we are in fact placing our people at the very centre of our tourism industry and this is because we have no culture if we do not have our people. Today this new drive by Seychelles has, and continues to bring visibility for our islands, and it ensures we remain relevant as a tourism destination," said Minister St Ange.
The first visit by The Magic Circus of Samoa was the first time a circus had come to Seychelles and the number of people who queued to see the performance was a clear indication that Seychelles had welcomed that initiative by the government of Seychelles.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the second tour of our islands by the Circus of Samoa and we are looking at special shows for the schools and for the elderly. This we already discussed in the meeting with Mr Loyale and his son when they were in Seychelles,” said Minister St Ange.
