Elvis Cesar still admired in his motherland |08 January 2016
Seychellois singer Elvis Cesar who has been living in Canada for many years now, is currently in his motherland to promote some of his old music.

He got the opportunity to perform in front of the Seychellois audience on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.
Elvis’ love affair with music started when he was only 11 years and living at Les Mamelles. He was inspired by the legendary Bob Marley, Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, musician and guitarist who achieved international fame.
Elvis, who left Seychelles in June 1991, said that after 22 years working in Canada, he has decided that it was time to visit his motherland.
“I am so pleased that I got the opportunity to come back to Seychelles and perform for the Seychellois audience around the island,” he said.
Elvis’ first album ‘Frekantasyon’ came out in 1995, followed one year later by another one called ‘Ragamufin ki nou le’. In 1998 he produced ‘Zen Ragamufin’. All the albums were produced in Canada.
“When I was performing around the island, I realised that the population was still fascinated by my old albums, my old music. I have witnessed that I have so many young fans that actually know my songs by heart,” added Elvis.
Elvis said when he was in Canada it was hard to create some good music and that he did not have that motivation.
“It is really hard to create some good music in Canada, to find that right ambience to do a good job. But since I came back in Seychelles I am working really hard to produce a new album,” he said.
He also pointed out that his new album, which he will start recording soon, will be released before he goes back to Canada by the end of April.
“I am planning to produce a new album with some new music so that the Seychellois people can appreciate a different kind of music from Elvis Cesar. I really want to work with artists such as Jakim, Elijah, Champion and Ambitious. It will be a real pleasure to mix my style of music with theirs, because they are young and really talented artists,” he pointed out.
Elvis wishes to thank Hype Production and Marcus who have sponsored him, as well as everyone who have helped him during his stay in Seychelles.
“I would like to thank all my fans for welcoming me back again in Seychelles, my country. If all goes well before I leave I will do a live show for all my fans, with songs from my new album included,” he said.
Elvis will also be at the Oxygen Night Club on January 29 for a live performance.
