Young talents Shaun Andriamaro and Damien Laporte leave tomorrow for Pretoria, South Africa to take part in theAfrica Junior Tennis Championship.

The two players qualified for the Pretoria rendez-vous after finishing among the top six players in the boys’ under-16 and under-14 categories at the 2016 East African Junior Tennis Championship played at the Nairobi Club, Kenya.

In fact, Laporte was the country’s top player at the tournament as he teamed up with Theo Barois to win the under-14 boys’ doubles gold medal, but he lost the under-14 boys’ singles final to settle for a silver medal.

As for Andriamaro he was ranked sixth in the under-16 boys’ singles category.

Laporte (under-14) and Andriamaro (under-16) will play the singles and will also pair with players from other countries in the doubles event. They will be accompanied by Coach Sheryl Youpa and are expected back on March 20.

T he tournament, which will be played at the High Performance Centre (HPC) in Pretoria, will feature at least 160 players from more than 30 African countries and will run from March 7-18.
