Independent School grab five titles,

International take three, Plaisance two

It went home with six titles last year, but yesterday Independent School could only grab five to again finish as the best in the Sacos National Inter-School Swimming Championships.

The finals took place yesterday in the 25m and the Olympic-size (50m) swimming pools at Roche Caïman.

International School’s five wins came in the following age categories ‒ girls’ 10-11 years with 41 points, boys’ 10-11 years with 54 points, boys’ 12-13 years with 86 points, girls’ 14-15 years with 76 points and boys’ 14-15 years with 72 points.

International School picked up three trophies in the girls’ 7-9 years with 42 points, girls’ 16 years and over with 53 points and boys’ 16 years and over with 67 points.

The other two trophies were won by Plaisance schools in the boys’ 7-9 years with 41 points and girls’ 12-13 years with 80 points.

Jane Joubert of Sacos and Niven Moodley presented the trophies to the winning teams.

The following are the top three schools in each age category:

Girls’ 7-9 years: 1. International School (45 points), 2. Independent School (19 points), 3. Au Cap School (18 points)

Boys’ 7-9 years: 1. Plaisance School (41 points), 2. Independent School (17 points), 3. Bel Eau School (12 points)

Girls’ 10-11 years: 1. Independent School (41 points), 2. Plaisance School (27 points), 3. International School (18 points)

Boys’ 10-11 years: 1. Independent School (54 points), 2. International School (19 points), 3. Pointe Larue School (19 points)

Girls’ 12-13 years: 1. Plaisance School (80 points), 2. International School (41 points), 3. Vijay International (30 points)

Boys’ 12-13 years: 1. Independent School (86 points), 2. Plaisance School (37 points), 3. Vijay International School (28 points)

Girls’ 14-15 years: 1. Independent School (76 points), 2. International School (45 points), 3. Plaisance School (38 points)

Boys’ 14-15 years: 1. Independent School (72 points), 2. International School (33 points), 3. Pointe Larue School (28 points)

Girls’ over 16 years: 1. International School (53 points), 2. Independent School (44 points), 3. School of Business Studies and Accounting (43 points)

Boys’ over 16 years: 1. International School (67 points), 2. UniSey’s FASD (42 points), 3. Plaisance School (29 points)
