Karting Best drivers rewarded during gala |29 November 2017

Dean Germain is the best male driver of the year, while Louisa Lafortune has retained the best female driver title she won in 2016, and Aaron Michel, racing in the SF5 category, has won the best young driver title.
They received their prizes during Sunday’s prize-giving ceremony at the Chilli Bar in the presence of youth and sports principal secretary Fabian Palmyre, National Sports Council (NSC) chief executive Giovanna Rousseau, other distinguished guests and representatives of sponsors. The event was organised by the Seychelles Karting Association (SKA).
On top of winning the best male driver title, Dean won the May Memorial Cup which gives him an opportunity to test an SF100 kart sometime next year.
Rennick Bonnelamme won the best coach award after his remarkable contribution towards the training of 16 newcomers in the Novice training programme, while Amelia Antat won the best volunteer award for her contribution towards medial and safety.
Ellie Antat is the best official for her work in operating the new electronic timing system as well as helping in recording other results during race days.
NSC’s liaison officer Dominic Pillay was also presented with an award for his work liaising between the SKA and the NSC.
SKA chairperson Liza Rene-Cosgrow together with the vice-chairman, Dane de Comarmond, presented appreciation awards to the main sponsors, these being Jayant Mayadas for Autocare, Gafoor Yakub of Penlac and Michael Mason.
The karting season is officially closed for this year and will resume with the annual general meeting scheduled for Saturday January 27, 2018.
