Indian Association launches its annual photography competition |30 June 2018

The Indian Association of Seychelles has launched its 5th photography competition under the theme ‘Incredible India in Paradise’.

The competition runs from June 20 until July 24, 2018.

This is the first activity of the 6th Seychelles India Day (SID) celebrations planned to take place from July 27-29, 2018. Other activities are being planned for this event.

The Seychelles India Day 2018 organising committee is aiming to get people to capture the beauty of Paradise Seychelles and Incredible India. The association firmly believes that there is a strong influence of Indian culture in Seychelles.

This year’s theme ‘Incredible India in Paradise’ is the same theme used since 2014 to date.

“We believe in the continuity and brand building of all activities of the Seychelles India Day as being very important as there will be a lot of inputs from everyone involved including participants from previous years,” said D.V. Sharma, the media executive of the Seychelles India Day 2018 organising committee.

He said that the committee wishes to continue with the same theme and concept as this has been well appreciated by the public.

Mr Sharma said all the activities like Festival Kreol and the Carnaval International de Victoria have been following the same theme and concept for all their editions and this helps in the continuity of these events.

The organising committee states that this strategy is helping boost the popularity of Seychelles India Day Image Award every year.

The main aim is to portray the beauty of India and Seychelles showcasing people, food, music, dance, sports & culture. This will also help to promote the friendly and bilateral relations between Seychelles and India.

The photography competition will capture the winning moments of the various activities being held during this year’s Seychelles India Day.

The photography competition is open to professionals and amateur photographers. Registration forms can be obtained by emailing seychellesindiaday@gmail or contact 2501002/2501054.

Photos can be submitted on CD or DVD in jpeg or tif file format or on an external drive or by email on seychellesindiaday@gmail.com. The name, age and address of participants with a brief description of the photo should also be included.

The organising committee is making a special appeal to all children and students to participate in the photography competition.
