Next Step group to take part in cleaning act |19 September 2013
Next Step and friends will put aside their musical instruments for a while on Saturday September 21 to take part in the Clean Up the World campaign.
The group’s leader Sonny Dogley says they will be picking up all the rubbish along Perseverance road. “This place is littered with empty take-away boxes and bottles, plastics, among other garbage,” notes Sonny.
“I cannot understand how someone can carry a box of take-away or a bottle of drink when full but can’t do the same when it’s empty,” he says.
Sonny says it is high time the authorities concerned put some bins along that road, as well as boards sensitising people on the need to keep our environment clean.
Following their involvement in the clean-up exercise on Saturday, the group will be organising a fun afternoon the following day, Sunday September 22, for children at the Perseverance Village 1 playground from 1.30pm to 6.30pm. At 5pm they will also perform together with Simply J.P. Com and Ex-Sergeant José Bonne, the son of the late veteran Seychellois musician Medaris Mussard.
Sonny and his group have thanked Pipeline Services (Pty) Ltd who has agreed to sponsor them water, food and bags for their cleaning activity.
