Italian consulate donates medicine to Victoria Hospital |10 January 2005
It was the Commissioner for the health service, Dr Rubell Brewer, who accepted the donation worth 6,000 euros on behalf of the Ministry of Health from Honorary Consul of Seychelles in Milan, Mr Antonio Rolfini.
The handing over took place during a brief ceremony last week at the Ministry of Health.
Dr Brewer said that the consignment, which included tablets for high blood pressure, pain killers, muscle cream for physiotherapy, among others, would be placed at the Victoria Hospital for pharmaceutical use.
On his part Mr Rolfini said that his consulate had always had good coorperation with the Seychelles' Ministry of Health, adding that in March this year there will be a conference for more than 60 consulates here in Seychelles whereby he will take the opportunity to appeal to the others for assistance in boosting the ministry's supplies of medicine.
