Safety Week Public Speaking Competition-Grand Anse Praslin Secondary is the winner

The runners up prize went to Elaine Letourdie, Sarah Simon and Terina Madeleine from Plaisance while the team made up of Joanna Isaac, Ginnie Laurencine and Samuella Barbier from Beau Vallon came out third.

The public speaking competition, which was part of the activities to mark this year’s Safety Week, was held Wednesday September 21 at the Ex-Assembly Hall at National House.

The participants had to base their presentations on the theme chosen for this year’s Safety Week: “Promoting a health and safety culture to increase productivity”.

Jillianne Beaudoin from Grand Anse Praslin Secondary School was also voted best main speaker.

The event was attended by the principal secretary for Employment, Jessy Esparon, officials from the employment department, members of the Safety Week organising committee and students from different schools.

The winners will be presented with their prizes in a ceremony on Friday. The presentation ceremony will also culminate the week-long activities.
