German travel show features Seychelles |22 October 2005

Vox Wolkenlos (meaning ‘sunny skies’) is a popular 50-minute travel show that airs on the private German TV channel Vox on Saturdays, offering up-to-the-minute travel information and practical travel tips, combined with useful information on destinations.

The show has a market share of 6.9 percent and an audience of up to 1.12 million viewers. The broadcast on Seychelles is expected to air on January 14, 2006.

The Wolkenlos crew is visiting Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and Moyenne, with the aim of showing viewers the diversity of Seychelles and the unspoilt beaches and natural environment.

Cultural events like Festival Kreol will be covered for the feature as well, and the crew is conducting interviews with several different island inhabitants, such as painter Barbara Jensen and perfume producer Dagmar Ehlert.

Moreover, Vox Wolkenlos is promoting affordable tourism in the Seychelles by including guesthouses in the TV show, and will include an interview with the Seychelles Tourism Board’s Peter Moncherry, the manager of the Small Establishment Enhancement Programme.
