This announcement was made by the Minister for Health and Social Services (MHSS), Vincent Meriton, at a traditional lunch for the elderly Wednesday afternoon (NOvember 16) at the institution at Plaisance to coincide with the birthday of former President France Albert Rene.
Minister Meriton told the residents that there had been a delay in the importation of certain equipment but everything would be ready soon so that they could move in.
"We are making all the necessary arrangements so that you could all move in your new modern home," he said.
He also reaffirmed the government's support towards the senior citizens and also called upon families to care for their old people and attend to their needs.
Also present at the gathering were members of the Central Management Committee in the MHSS, the Nursing-Coordinator of the institute, Venise Clarisse, other staff and guests.
A resident, Andréa Toussaint, also had good wishes for Mr Rene on his birthday and thanked the government for its continued support and care for the elderly.
Minister Meriton, who also had lunch with the residents, found time to talk to them and also handed out gifts on behalf of President James Michel.
Also as part of Mr Rene's birthday celebrations, Minister Meriton visited the inmates at the North East Point Hospital Wednesday morning and presented them with gifts.
