Six injured in weekend accidents |23 January 2006

The 13-year-old girl from Praslin, and the four people travelling in a jeep which hit her were flown to Mahe on Saturday afternoon after an accident at Grand Anse.

According to the police the girl was hit by the jeep, which then overturned injuring all four occupants.

As of Sunday afternoon, the girl was still in Victoria Hospital with a fractured left arm and an injured foot, along with two male passengers from the jeep.

All were described as being in a stable condition.

The driver and one female passenger from the jeep have been discharged from hospital following treatment.

A police investigation into the incident is under way.

In an incident in the Mont Fleuri area, a man was hit by a car and taken to hospital with a fractured right arm and cuts to his head.

The driver of the car has been arrested and the police are investigating the incident.

The injured man is described as being in a stable condition.
