Businesses invited to major trade fairs in China |26 July 2006
These are the 10th edition of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) to be held from September 8 to 11 and the 100th session of the Chinese Export Commodities Fair (Canton Fair) to be held in two phases from October 15 to 20 and October 25 to 30.
The CIFIT is held annually in the International Conference and Exhibition Centre in Xiamen, whereas the Canton Fair is a biannual event hosted by the Guangzhou Province and will take place at the Phazhou Complex and Liuhua Complex.
The CIFIT is seen as China's largest nation-wide international investment platform focusing on promoting bilateral investments and foreign direct investments (FDIs). The 10th edition is expected to be marked by unparalleled global trade and investment services through exhibition, symposium, policy consultation and commercial activities. China's ministry of commerce is expected to take this opportunity to host an International Investment Forum and a series of seminars on pertinent investment issues.
The Forum will see the participation of distinguished speakers from the Chinese and foreign governments, international economic organisations as well as Nobel Prize winners and celebrated economists.
Over 12,000 visitors and delegations from 125 countries and regions attended the 9th CIFIT last year. Governments and enterprises from 66 countries introduced over 1,000 investment projects while 7 countries sponsored the Pavilion Day activities.
During the last nine sessions of the CIFIT, over 11,000 investment cooperative projects worth over US $60 billion were endorsed.
The Canton Fair is said to be one of the most comprehensive fairs organised over a large scale, showcasing the most complete variety of exhibit, the widest distribution of overseas buyers and bringing in the greatest business turnover in China.
Over the last 50 years, the Canton Fair has developed to become a reliable brand for trade promotion to many people in China and the rest of the world. In each of its session, the fair attracts over 12,000 Chinese exhibitors and a huge number of buyers from over 200 countries and regions, generating a trade volume of more than US $20 billion.
The exhibits in this year's session will consist of industrial products, textiles and garments, medicines and health products, consumer goods and gifts.
Seychellois entrepreneurs wishing to attend the fair or those seeking partners for viable investment projects can contact the Chinese Embassy to register and obtain travel information.
