They came on board a specially chartered Boeing 762 which touched down at Seychelles International Airport at 10.00 a.m., where representatives of Mason’s Travel presented each of the visitors with a special gift.
Marketing coordinator Heidi Madeleine of Mason’s said it was a major step forward for the industry “because Poland is not one of our traditional markets but we have now succeeded in penetrating there.”
Also present to receive the guests, who were entertained by a live band as they went through immigration and customs formalities, were representatives of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), who hailed Mason’s for their effort that has seen the visitors, many of whom were in family groups, sample Seychelles.
“It is quite remarkable, and through these 195 visitors, word about Seychelles will certainly spread in Poland about the uniqueness of our islands, so this can only be a beginning,” said Amia Jonanovic, STB’s destination and marketing manager.
The tourists will be here until January 3, 2008, and are expected to visit different places on Mahe, Praslin and Silhouette.
