Gold medallist Leveau-AgricoleWith a best throw of 51.57m, the two-time former Sportslady of the Year had little difficulty winning the women’s javelin against five opponents in her first international competition of the year.

A bronze medallist at the last All-Africa Games in Abuja, Nigeria, Leveau-Agricole is to train and compete in France for a month ahead of the ninth edition of the Games in Algiers, Algeria from July 11 to 23.

Male high jumper and Seychelles record holder Eugène Ernesta cleared the bar at 2m to win a bronze medal, finishing ahead of six other jumpers.

Cheered on by the home crowd, little-known Ramohube demonstrated that Botswana’s depth of quality high jumpers is growing, clearing the bar at 2.25m to win the gold medal.

Seychelles was also represented by female sprinter Joanna Houareau who finished fourth with a clocking of 12.64 seconds in the 100m sprint won by a Zimbabwean in 11.63 seconds.
